Responsibilities and Duties

  1. Welcome guests upon their arrival with warmth and enthusiasm, ensuring they feel anticipated and valued.
  2. Manage reservations and maintain an organized waitlist, ensuring efficient seating and optimal guest flow.
  3. Provide guests with estimated waiting times, keeping them informed of any changes.
  4. Coordinate table assignments, taking into consideration special requests and specific dining needs.
  5. Offer menu highlights, daily specials, and inform guests about ongoing promotions as they wait.
  6. Assist servers and bussers in setting up tables, ensuring all items meet the Latitude 44 standard of presentation and readiness.
  7. Handle guest inquiries and complaints professionally and promptly, always aiming for optimal guest satisfaction.
  8. Coordinate with servers, kitchen staff, and management to ensure seamless transitions between guest arrival and seating.
  9. Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the reception area and ensure all materials (like menus, promotional flyers) are up-to-date.
  10. Manage incoming calls, take reservations, and answer questions related to dining at Latitude 44.

Qualifications and Skills

  1. Previous experience as a host in a fine-dining or upscale casual dining establishment preferred.
  2. Strong knowledge of restaurant operations and seating dynamics.
  3. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  4. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a warm and welcoming demeanor.
  5. Must be adaptable, open to feedback, and dedicated to continuous personal growth and improvement.
  6. Proficiency in using reservation software and handling phone systems.
  7. Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  8. A passion for hospitality, creating inviting atmospheres, and ensuring guest satisfaction.
  9. Ability to stand for extended periods and may occasionally be required to lift up to 20 lbs.
